ESEF reporting in a nutshell
ESEF stands for European Single Electronic Format and it has been mandated by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) as part of the Transparency Directive.
Issuers subject to the Transparency Directive are Publicly listed companies on EU regulated markets. The latter are required to produce their annual reports in a way that makes it both human- and machine-readable using the ESEF format.
